After reading Modern Languages in Edinburgh and Vienna, Welsh baritone Rhys Jenkins trained at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama Opera School. He recently completed his studies with Dennis O’Neill at the Cardiff International Academy of Voice.
His opera roles have included Tonio I Pagliacci in Dublin, Figaro Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Sharpless Madama Butterfly (Dartington), Schaunard La Bohème, Sacristan Tosca and Benoit/Alcindoro La Bohème (Opus One Opera). Amongst his recent engagements have been Rodrigo Don Carlo with Bel Canto Opera and Geronimo Il Matrimonio Segretto for Opera Barga.
Concerts have included Brahms Requiem, Dvořák Mass in D, Handel Messiah & Israel in Egypt, Stanford Songs of the Sea, Elgar Coronation Ode, Mozart Mass in C Minor and Berlioz Messe Solennelle.
